President's Message

Welcome to the website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated - Kappa Tau Omega chapter. For over 100 years, women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated  having committed to providing Service to All Mankind. Since 1976, Kappa Tau Omega has proudly carried on the traditions of our beloved Founders.

One of our signature events, the Annual Pink & Green Holi”Day” Party, provides an opportunity for our friends, colleagues, fellow members of the Bloomington community to fellowship during the holiday season and contribute to a very worthy cause by supporting students who are working toward high school graduation and admission to a college of their choice. Another signature event, our Annual Pumps and Pearls Women’s Empowerment Tea, allows us to honor and celebrate women and our tremendous accomplishments in leadership, education, and community endeavors. These events in conjunction with our national signature program, College Admissions Process, also known as #CAPSM,  will focus on motivating and assisting young people throughout the college entry process. In addition, Kappa Tau Omega will collectively provide HBCU support, health and wellness awareness, focus on the arts, and economic well-being as part of our national program initiatives.

Our chapter has a diverse group of women who strive to be of service in our local communities. Our members range in age from 22 to 72, and are both natives of the state of Indiana and hail from other parts of the country. From educators to doctoral students and engineers, to civil service and management supervisors, our members represent a variety of professional sectors throughout Monroe, Vigo, and Marion Counties. We invite our sisters who are looking for a chapter home to look no further, as Kappa Tau Omega will welcome you!

Yours in Service,
